Aanand Mehtani now exclusively represents tenants, employees, and consumers. However, he started his legal career at O’Melveny & Myers – a highly selective litigation powerhouse that has incubated some of America’s most successful lawyers, judges, business leaders, and politicians. While at O’Melveny, Mr. Mehtani worked alongside senior statesmen such as Clinton Administration Secretary of State Warren Christopher, Reagan White House Counsel A.B. Culvahouse Jr., and Biden Administration Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, contributing billable work directly to Secretary Mayorkas’s elite practice.
After leaving O’Melveny, Mr. Mehtani went on to practice litigation at another large international powerhouse which is second to none – the Washington D.C. based Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld. Akin’s litigation practice is widely considered to be among the best in the United States, if not the absolute best. Working at Akin Gump, Mr. Mehtani drafted complex briefs in cases where hundreds of millions of dollars were in controversy. Erin Reisman represents individuals, not institutions. She earned her J.D. at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law in 2006, after completing her undergraduate degree at the University of California, Berkeley.
In nearly two decades of practice, Ms. Reisman has built a reputation for meticulous preparation and for the discipline that wins cases before they are ever argued. She sees a stable home as the foundation everything else in a person’s life is built on, and she brings that conviction to the firm’s housing practice – along with an attentiveness that leaves clients feeling heard from the very first call.
Daniel A. Reisman exclusively represents individuals – never corporations – against landlords, employers, and big corporations. He earned his J.D. at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, where he was selected for Law Review, after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.
Over 20 years of practice, Mr. Reisman has tried and resolved cases against institutional defendants and the large firms that represent them, including a $5.25 million verdict in a single housing case. Retaliating against you for asserting your rights — including getting legal help or reporting bad conditions — is illegal in California. If it happens, that retaliation can become part of your case.
Your immigration status does not affect your rights as a tenant, and we keep everything confidential. Owing rent does not give a landlord the right to lock you out, shut off utilities, or ignore dangerous conditions.
Deadlines (called statutes of limitation) vary by claim, and some are short. The sooner you reach out, the more we can do — and the easier it is to preserve evidence like photos, texts, and repair requests.
